Cycle to work

We all like a tax break. Even Kanye West, who Tweeted this a few days ago: "I love everybody... only thing I don't like is taxes.. me and taxes gone fight".

The UK government might be powered by taxes, but sometimes there's a little silver lining for us all. And this one's bicycle shaped.

I just did a few calculations on the handy "how much could I save" thingy on the website, and needless to say pound signs are flashing in my eyes. I might not be a high earner (yet) but come bike purchasing time, I could be a big winner tax-wise. I just hope they don't scrap the scheme any time soon...

Mark Beaumont nearing end of another epic cycle

Scottish cycling hero Mark Beaumont is nearing the end of his second epic cycle across the Americas, you can read all about his journey on his blog over at the BBC. He also has a Twitter feed which he updates regularly. Mark will also be going on tour between March and May to talk about his experiences and present the film of his journey. Should be fascinating to hear from this brave and inspiring cyclist.

Cycling is great, lets celebrate it

There is nothing I like more of a summer's day than to set off in the morning, with nothing more than a packed lunch, a map and, of course, my trusty bicycle.

Quite often I don't know where I'm going, or how long it will take, though more often I do have at least a hint of plan.

This is the way I choose to try to keep myself fit and healthy, I could have chosen jogging, but that looks way too difficult for me, I could play football, but some people just can't kick a ball straight.

So I just sally off down the cycle-path and enjoy life, I think you should too.
